About Perlite
- Perlite is mixed in growing substrates but is also quite suitable as a substrate for hydroculture and culture systems.
- It has a very low volume weight, it is totally incombustible and non toxic.
- It will definitely not rot, is completely free of any pathogens and will not attract any vermin or pest. Furthermore, Perlite is Ph-neutral, sterile and odourless.
- When mixed in a growing substrate, Perlite ensures an excellent balance between water and air, it considerably improves the structure of the substrate and is very easy to use.
- Perlite can be used for mixing into composts, soils and growing media. It also provides air retention, aids water retention, helps keep the compost warm and also adds insulation values.
- It can also help with drainage which will stop the compost becoming over-saturated.
