1L Perlite Medium Grade 0-6mm
Perlite is a volcanic stone and is white in colour, quite small and very light clods. It is a 100% environmentally friendly, natural product.
Perlite is mixed in growing substrates but is also quite suitable as a substrate for hydroculture and culture systems.
It has a very low volume weight, it is totally incombustible and non toxic.
It will definitely not rot, is completely free of any pathogens and will not attract any vermin or pest. Furthermore, Perlite is Ph-neutral, sterile and odourless.
When mixed in a growing substrate, Perlite ensures an excellent balance between water and air, it considerably improves the structure of the substrate and is very easy to use.
Perlite can be used for mixing into composts, soils and growing media. It also provides air retention, aids water retention, helps keep the compost warm and also adds insulation values.
It can also help with drainage which will stop the compost becoming over-saturated.
